BookLocalWork
A single front door for homeowners to a family of local trade directories.
Overview
BookLocalWork gathers eight trade directories under one address, so a homeowner who needs a roofer, a plumber, or a tree service starts in the same place. Each trade has its own site and brand, and the front page states plainly that BookLocalWork is a directory and referral service, not a contractor.
The tree service and plumbing directories are open nationwide, compiled from public business records: a visitor searches by town, ZIP, or address and sees nearby companies on a map and in a list, nearest first, with links that go directly to each company. Each open directory is paired with the same job-management software, branded for its trade, and the other six trades show an “opening soon” page that invites local companies to be included.
What it does
- A front page with all eight trades, each card linking to that trade’s own directory
- Tree service and plumbing directories covering all 50 states, compiled from public business records
- Search by town, ZIP, or address, with a map and a list of companies nearest first
- Listing order that is never sold, and a “Remove my business” request for any listed company
- Job-management software for each open trade, such as BookPlumbingWork for plumbing companies
- “Opening soon” pages for the six trades still being built, inviting companies to be included at no cost
- A New Zealand edition, BookLocalWork.co.nz, presenting the same eight trades
